With Gunther having held the prestigious title for an impressive 666 days, defeating a slew of formidable opponents along the way, the challenge before Zayn is nothing short of monumental.

Gunther’s dominance has been unparalleled, having vanquished the likes of Jey Uso, Chad Gable, Sheamus, and Drew McIntyre, among others. Despite the formidable obstacle in his path, Zayn, a former Intercontinental Champion himself, enters WrestleMania with a determined spirit, aiming to etch his name in the annals of WWE history by becoming the first to topple Gunther’s reign.

Even before the match started, Sami Zayn was seen talking to his wife and son. Sami also meets Chad Gable, who tells him that Zayn can win on his “own” and that he has the match. Zayn made the entrance with a fire in his eyes to recapture his honour.

On the way, he is wished by his best friend Kevin Owens as well. Fans were loud as Zayn made it to the ring singing his song. Then the Intercontinental Champion, the In-Ring General, GUNTHER made his entrance alongside Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci.

Sami Zayn and GUNTHER got into a fight, but GUNTHER was easily able to overpower Zayn. Zayn then hit GUNTHER with a barrage of chops, which GUNTHER turned into a German suplex. Then, GUNTHER starts hitting Zayn with chops and kicks, and Zayn could be seen drowning. GUNTHER then puts Zayn on the turnbuckle and keeps beating him up.

But somehow Sami Zayn finds the courage and strength to go head-to-head against GUNTHER, and Zayn starts firing punches, and then Zayn hits GUNTHER with two suplexes, but GUNTHER makes a comeback with the clothesline.

Now, with Sami Zayn down, GUNTHER tries to finish the match, but Zayn turns the move into a tornado DDT, but GUNTHER catches Zayn into a sleeper hold in the middle of the ring. Where everybody thought Zayn is going to lose, Zayn somehow tried to make it to the rope, but GUNTHER then hit him with a German suplex.

Then GUNTHER hits Sami Zayn with a powerbomb, but Zayn kicks out of two. But Sami Zayn out of nowhere hits GUNTHER with a helluva kick but GUNTHER kicks out of two. Zayn now all fired up tries for another kick but GUNTHER hits two powerbombs to Zayn but Zayn again survives. Then there is a moment where GUNTHER could be seen talking to Zayn’s wife.

GUNTHER then starts attacking Zayn mercilessly but somehow Zayn keeps on surviving. GUNTHER then again hits Zayn with a powerbomb following with 2 splashes. But as GUNTHER went for the 3rd splash Sami Zayn hit GUNTHER with a helluva kick following up with a brainbuster and then again hitting a helluva kick. But to make sure Zayn hits his 3rd consecutive helluva kick to make sure he wins the Intercontinental Championship dethroning the In-Ring General.
