Sand To Gold Project To Lay Foundation For Beach Soccer Industry

The extraordinary evolution of beach soccer in Ghana will take a new dimension from today, Saturday 19th October 2019 when the “Sand to Gold” project is activated.

The fishing community of Abuesi in the Western region is expected to host the first leg of the CalBank Super League with newly registered beach soccer teams.

The league format would witness matches in other coastal enclaves including the Central, Volta and Greater Accra regions.

Winners of the regional tour would then play a final round robin weekend at a yet to be decided venue in December.

Yaw Ampofo Ankrah explains why the Sand to Gold project is so significant to the development of the sport into an industry.
