“Senior Police Officer” Arrested over Recruitment Scam in Mankessim

A fake Senior Police Officer has been arrested at Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region in a recruitment scam case.

Speaking to Bryt FM News Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah, the Deputy Central Regional Police Public Relations Officer Sergeant Isaac Evans Atti explained that, on the 25th of February, 2021, the Mankessim Divisional Police Command received information that a 28- year-old Nana Opare, an unemployed and resident at Mankessim was going round and presenting himself as one of the senior officers at the District and Divisional Headquarters that he could assist persons interested to be enlisted into Ghana Police Service.

That he has defrauded many under the same pretenses in Mankessim and its environs.

Suspect Nana Opare is in Police custody assisting with the investigation.

The Central Regional Police Command used the opportunity to call on the general public that whoever has been defrauded or fallen victim to the modus operandi of the suspect to report to the Mankessim Divisional Police or the nearest police station
