Following the sad passing of Lawyer John Mpuntuah Kumah, the national executive of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) invited those interested in running for the Ejisu Seat to pick nomination forms and compete for the position.
The seven persons who have picked up their nomination forms include Dr. Evans Duah, Lawyer Kwesi Nyantakyi, Lawyer Kwabena Boateng, Hon Helena Mensah, Lawyer Portia Achempong Abronye, Abena Pokuaa Amoah‐Boaitey, and Hon Klinsmann Karikari Mensah.
Speaking after picking up the forms on Tuesday, 2nd April 2024, Dr. Evans Duah asserted that his extensive record of service to the community sets him apart from any other candidates who may express interest in the replacement of Lawyer John Kumah.
He expressed his sorrow about the saddest passing away of the late John Kumah and wished his soul to rest in perfect peace as he prayed.
According to Dr. Duah, the previous leader accomplished a great deal, so it is necessary to replace him with a capable, selfless, unified, and committed individual who can continue to carry on the good work he started.
He claims that for Ejisu to succeed and carry on from the place where the late MP left off to the promised land, he must be considered certainly.
To fill the largest shoes left by the late Lawyer John Kumah, he made a plea to the Ejisu delegates to examine his candidacy and cast a sizable majority of the votes in favor of him to serve on their behalf in Parliament.
Also, Lawyer Kwesi Nyantakyi, who was represented by his assistant Mr. Solomon Ofosu Ware, was among the remaining six individuals who also filled out the forms. Mr. Ware hinted that his boss is the best candidate for the Ejisu constituency because he has more connections in both local and international politics and can work toward significant infrastructure development for the municipality.
According to him, Lawyer Kwesi Nyantakyi is a self-devoted, servant of humanity, a unifier, and someone who loves everyone unconditionally. He, however, appeals to the delegates to take into consideration giving the mandate to represent them in Parliament in 2025.
