Sex education: Don’t be shocked when our children grow to convert your cathedral into a brothel – Ablakwa to Akufo-Addo

Former Education Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has joined the list of Ghanaians angry about the proposed syllabus for sex education at the basic level in Ghana.

A Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) is set to be introduced into Ghana’s basic schools’ curriculum by the year 2020.

The overall objective of the CSE programme is to equip pupils to know and experience their sexuality.

Many have since rejected the idea of teaching ‘kids’ about sex, in fact, several others have kicked against the subject.

In a post on his Facebook page, Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa described the entire decision a reckless one.

Comparing some initiatives including the Secondary Education Improvement Project (SEIP), the Ghana Reading Action Plan (GRAP) and the TVET, which he says benefitted the student population in Ghana largely, he quizzed why Ghana agreed to the Comprehensive Sexuality Education policy when and what urgent deficiency they were trying to address.

Choosing an agenda in education based on our national needs, cultural values and priorities he said would have been ideal, considering that’s what the Mahama-led administration did during their tenure.

“There can be no possible justification whatsoever for this reckless introduction of Comprehensive Sexuality Education.

When we are done with this despicable moral destruction of our children, we shouldn’t be surprised when they grow to convert President Akufo-Addo’s cathedral into a brothel. This alternative has been really scary.” he said.
