Sky Train: Ablakwa blows alarm on another US$2 million fishy deal

It seems Ghana’s move to have sky trains as promised by some elements of the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) in order to ease traffic in the country may not see the light of day.

According to the Member of Parliament(MP) for North Tongu, the company charged with the responsibility of working on the sky train did not have the needed technology to work on it.

Also, there was no feasibility studies, and when there was no cabinet and parliamentary approvals, however, the Government of Ghana under the watch of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo approved an amount of US$2million from the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund to Mauritius registered SPV known as Africa Investor Sky Train Consortium Holdings.

Making these revelations known in a post shared on Facebook, Okudzeto Ablakwa the government is currently struggling to retrieve the monies paid illegally to the company.

It is well known that the Akufo-Addo government has made an embarrassing U-Turn from the President’s outlandish promise to deliver a sky train in Accra by August 2020.

What they have refused to tell the Ghanaian people is that they handed out US$2million from the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund under shady circumstances to a Mauritius registered SPV known as Africa Investor Sky Train Consortium Holdings.

According to the Auditor General, Government of Ghana generously gave them the US$2million on 25 February, 2019 as premium for shares when the company didn’t have an “Aeromovel Technology” license, there was no feasibility studies, and when there was no cabinet and parliamentary approvals.
