Serbian Coach Milovan Rajevac to arrive in Ghana early next week for unveiling

Serbian coach Milovan Rajevac will arrive in the country next week to take over the Black Stars job.

The 67-year-old has agreed on a two-year deal with the Ghana Football Association and will be unveiled to the public after signing the contract.

GHANAsoccernet.com understands that Rajevac Milovan will earn $45,000 per month.

Milovan who last coached The Thailand national team makes a return to the Black Stars after 11 years.

He resigned from the Black Stars job after the 2010 World Cup to sign for Saudi side Al Ahly Jeddah.

The three-member committee led by Ghana FA Vice president Mark Addo selected the former Black Stars coach from the list of applicants interested in the job.

Milovan has a reach history with the four-time AFCON Champions.

He guided the Black Stars to the 2010 AFCON final where the team lost to Egypt and reached the quarter-finals in the 2010 World Cup with the Black Stars and promoted a lot of youth players from the U-20 World Cup-winning squad to the national team.

He is also known for his disciplinary record with the national team.

The experienced tactician will replace CK Akonnor who was dismissed last Monday following a defeat to South Africa in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

The GFA is convinced the former Qatar and Thailand gaffer is best cut for the head coach role considering his experience on the continent.

GHANAsoccernet exclusively reported two days ago that the Serbian trainer is the frontrunner to take over the vacant head coach role of the Black Stars.

Rajevac is expected to lead Ghana in the next World Cup qualification matches against Zimbabwe in a doubleheader next month.
