VIDEO: Each Kotoko Player Pockets GH¢ 2,000 For Derby Win Over Hearts of Oak

Asante Kotoko Executive Chairman Dr Kwame Kyei announced a whopping GH¢ 2,000-a-player winning bonus after Sunday’s 2-1 win over Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors put a decent performance to put their sworn enemies to the sword in the Ghana Premier League derby.

A Justice Blay’s powerful header in the 11th minute gave Kotoko the lead, but Hearts leveled after the hour mark through Joseph Esso.

But an injury time handball inside the box earned Kotoko a player and Guinean Naby Keita converted expertly for the match winner.

”Yesterday, I promised you that I would do something special. Your winning bonus was 400 but I have reviewed it to 2,000,” Dr Kyei disclosed at the team’s hotel.

”Also, your winning bonus for away and home matches was GH¢ 400 and GH¢ 300 respectively but from today, it’s GH¢ 500.”
