St. John’s School Student Crowned National Stem Olympiad Champion

Emmanuel Abakah-Middley, a brilliant student from St. John’s School, Sekondi has emerged victorious in the National STEM Olympiad championship 2024, solidifying his position as one of Ghana’s brightest young minds in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

The National STEM Olympiad, a prestigious competition that brings together talented students from various schools across the country, aims to promote excellence in STEM education and foster innovation among Ghana’s youth. This year’s edition saw intense competition among participants, but Abakah-Middley’s exceptional skills and knowledge set him apart.

Emmanuel demonstrated remarkable proficiency in problem-solving, critical thinking, and technical expertise, impressing judges and observers alike. His achievement not only reflects his individual excellence but also underscores the dedication to academic excellence and STEM education at St. John’s School.

Abakah-Middley’s triumph has earned him recognition and accolades, including a fully sponsored trip to embark on global trips organized by the Ghana Olympiad Academy, as Ghana’s representative and also customized championship plaque for St. John’s School, Sekondi.

Kenneth David Korley Kisseih also from St. John’s School placed 18th, securing specialized STEM training from the Ghana Olympiad Academy and potential scholarship opportunities abroad. St. John’s School impressively outshone contenders such as Presec, Augusco, Holy Child, SOS, GIS and other international schools to take crown.
