Alhaji Musah Abubakar, the chairman of the Muslim Executive Foundation (MUSEF), has expressed his displeasure with the media’s promotion and involvement in gambling activities on their platforms.
According to him, the media has played an important role in national development, and without them, the country would not be where it is today. However, he added that the media has abandoned its role in nation-building in favor of supporting and entertaining gambling, betting, and lottery activities on their platform, which is setting a bad example for future generations.
“I would appeal to journalists who are pivotal to the nation-building to stop condoning…getting themselves involved in and massively promoting gambling activities in the County”, Alhaji Musah Abubakar appealed.
He, therefore, urges the media to refrain from advertising gambling on their platforms and preach about the good works with standard morals that will move the country forward, because gambling is frowned upon in Ghana’s society.
