Support small scale enterprises to expand – Assistant Auditor General pleads with Rural Banks

 The Assistant Auditor General who doubles as  the board chairman of Brakwa Breman Rural Bank, Mr. Alexander Koomson has pleaded with rural and community banks to support small business and enterprises in their areas to expand.
Speaking in an interview with the media during the bank’s 36th Annual General Meeting which was held at Breman Anhwiam in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District of Central Region, Mr. Koomson said, it is the responsibility of banks to motivate and give flexible loans to the infant businesses to help them matchup with the big ones.
According to the Board Chairman, giving flexible loans as well as ensuring it payment and also tightening the internal control mechanisms has been the reason for Brakwa Breman Rural Bank 257% increase in profit with the amount of 363,580.00 in 2021 as compared to 101,977.00 in 2020.
“I will take this opportunity to also advise individuals and especially petty traders to have confidence in Rural and Community Banks because they provide unique services to the Rural Communities” Mr. Koomson added.
