All activities at the Takoradi Flour Mill have been brought to a halt after the Executive Director, Serge Bakalian, asked all workers to go home with immediate effect.
A memo to all departments intercepted by Starrfm.com.gh revealed that the decision was taken due to a “perceived hostile and antagonistic stance adopted and deployed by some…workers of TFM towards the upper echelons of the management.”
Reports on Tuesday indicated that the Takoradi Flour Mill had been shut down by workers of the company after they picked information that the embattled General Manager for the flour manufacturing company, Thierry Luopiac, was set to return to work.
But the Memo to all staff revealed otherwise, indicating that management was uncomfortable with the “highly tense and volatile situation on the factory premises” created by the workers hence took the decision to halt all activities.
“In the light of the ongoing perceived hostile and antagonistic stance adopted and deployed by some, if not all workers of TFM towards the upper echelons of the management of TFM and impliedly & cumulatively against the directing and controlling minds of the ‘FACTORY’, and it’s Owners, thereby creating a highly tense and volatile situation on the factory premises, I do hereby direct that any or ALL ACTIVITIES at the factory premises including but not limited to milling and evacuation MUST CEASE FORTHWITH or before 06:00 GMT of the 6th day of August 2019 pending the amicable resolution of the unfortunate impasse engulfing us all.
“This is in the light of the fact that the safety of the workers, management and the physical plant can no longer be guaranteed. Any losses incurred shall have to be borne by all and sundry,” the memo intercepted by Starrfm.com.gh read.
