The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Techiman North, Hon. Adom Kwabena Johnson, has promised to provide equal opportunities to all learners in Krobo and the entire Techiman North district to enhance their Information and Communication Technology (ICT) knowledge.
Hon. Adom Johnshon made this assertion during a courtesy visit to the Techiman Krobohene and Kyidomhene of the Techiman Traditional Area, Oyeadeye Asa Akompanin. The visit was part of Hon. Johnson’s familiarization tour to key traditional authorities within the Techiman North District to seek for their blessings as he officially assumes work as the DCE
During the meeting, the Techiman Krobohene, Oyeadeye Asa Akompanin bemoaned the deteriorated state of the Krobo ICT Center, revealing that the once functional facility has been neglected and is now used as a venue for funeral gatherings. He also raised concerns about security issues at the Krobo Senior High School, calling for immediate intervention from the DCE.
In response, Hon. Adom Kwabena Johnson reassured the people of Krobo and Techiman North of his dedication to reviving the ICT center.
He noted that the center was originally built by the previous NDC government with all necessary logistics and promised to restore it to its former glory.
“Regarding the ICT center at Krobo, it was built between 2015 and 2016, and at the time, the then government provided all the necessary logistics to ensure smooth operations. It saddens me to see that the ICT center has been left to deteriorate to the extent that it is now being used for funeral gatherings.
“However, I can assure the people of Krobo and Techiman North at large that we will collaborate with the GIFIC Foundation to revive the ICT center.” He stated
He further revealed the Assembly’s commitment to inclusive education, saying, “The Assembly is committed to providing quality and inclusive education to all learners in Techiman North. I will personally ensure that learners in Krobo and the entire district get equal opportunities to enhance their ICT knowledge through the revival of the Krobo ICT Center.”
Hon. Johnson also addressed the concerns about security at Krobo Senior High School, promising to engage the Techiman North Education Directorate to find effective solutions.
“Additionally, I will engage the Techiman North Education Directorate to discuss how best we can improve security at Krobo Senior High School.” He said.
