Techiman North: YEA Coordinator pledges jobs for youth, receives blessing from traditional leaders

The newly appointed Youth Employment Authority (YEA) Coordinator for Techiman North District, Mr. Agyei Ahimah Samuel, has pledged his unwavering commitment to creating sustainable employment opportunities for the youth in the district.

He made this assurance during a courtesy visit to the Offuman Traditional Council, where he sought blessings from the traditional leaders before officially assuming his new role.

Following his visit to the traditional council, Mr. Agyei Ahimah Samuel officially took over the position during a short handing-over ceremony. Addressing the media he explained the importance of collaborative efforts in tackling youth unemployment.

He disclosed that the government led by President John Dramani Mahama has introduced numerous initiatives aimed at securing stable employment for the youth across the country, and assured that those in Techiman will not be left out.

“H.E. John Dramani Mahama has introduced several initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the youth in Ghana and Techiman North will not be left behind. My team and I are committed to ensuring the full implementation of these policies and initiatives for the benefit of the good people of Techiman North.

“President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC government have launched impactful programs such as the Community Policing initiative, Youth in Agriculture, the Free Apprenticeship Program, and many others.”

Mr. Agyei Samuel pledged to work hand-in-hand with the Member of Parliament, the District Chief Executive for Techiman North, government agencies, NGOs, and other private institutions to implement the policies and programs introduced by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, aimed at creating sustainable employment opportunities for the youth of Techiman North.

“I will collaborate with all relevant stakeholders in the district, including the District Chief Executive (DCE), the Member of Parliament, traditional leaders, and private sector partners, to identify and promote job opportunities and available vacancies for our youth.

“The youth are the backbone of our nation, and I firmly believe that when they are gainfully employed, it not only empowers them individually but also contributes significantly to national economic growth.” He stated.

The Chief of Offuman, Nana Kwaku Gyan Brokuoh, called on Mr. Samuel Adjei to place youth development and job creation at the forefront of his work to help combat rising unemployment and reduce social vices among the youth.

“Most young people turn to drugs because they are unemployed. Since they are not working and often idle, they become easily influenced by their peers, which can lead to the use of illicit substances.

“However, I strongly believe that if the youth have a source of income, it will be difficult for them to be influenced negatively. Therefore, I urge you to make it a priority to engage the youth in meaningful employment.” He stated

He offered his blessing and support to Mr. Adjei, expressing confidence in his leadership. “I believe in your capabilities, and I am convinced that you are the right person for this role. I bless you and pray that your tenure will be successful and fruitful for the people of Techiman North, Bono East, and Ghana as a whole.”
