Techiman South: Justice Salia Abdulai vows selfless leadership in bid for NDC chairmanship

Aspiring National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency chairman for Techiman South, Justice Salia Abdulai, has pledged to lead with integrity, humility, and a deep sense of selflessness if given the nod in the upcoming constituency elections.

Addressing the media, he reflected on his public service record and reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots empowerment and transparent leadership, principles he believes are crucial for the growth and unity of the NDC in the Techiman South constituency.

“I was the first Assembly Member for Ahenabrem. During my tenure, the then-President, the late Prof. John Evans Atta Mills, provided motorcycles for all Assembly Members. I chose to give mine to my Unit Committee Chairman to help him carry out his duties more efficiently.

“I always say that a good name is better than riches. I encourage all individuals in positions of influence to use that position to support their subordinates. If our leaders adopt a selfless approach and act as I did during my time as Assembly Member, Ghana will become a much better country.” He stated

Justice Salia Abdulai also expressed concern about the growing trend of self-serving leadership in politics, noting that, “Unfortunately, some individuals treat politics as a business venture. Once they secure a position of merit, they misuse that office for personal gain. We have people in high places who keep all the benefits within the party or constituency to themselves, at the expense of the very people they are meant to serve. This is a negative practice we must collectively reject.”

He used the opportunity to announce his intention to contest again, urging delegates and party faithful to support his candidacy.

“I once contested for the constituency chairmanship in Techiman South but was not elected. Nonetheless, after the elections, I visited the winner at his home and pledged my full support to help uplift the image of our great party.

“I will contest again in the next constituency elections, and I appeal to all party members, especially the delegates, to vote massively for me. I promise to be transparent in all my dealings. I will not misuse the chairmanship position but will work closely with all the executives to grow the party in Techiman. I will take grassroots supporters seriously and will do everything within my means to empower them even before any support comes from our National Executives.” He stated.
