Techiman Tako Fiano: Assembly Member supports BECE candidates with exam materials

The Assembly Member for the Tako Fiano Electoral Area, Hon. Francis Bekoe, in collaboration with the management of Minimie Atsomo, has provided essential examination materials to all Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates within the electoral area.

Each candidate received a mathematical set, pen, ruler, and a snack from Minimie Atsomo. The donation is aimed at equipping learners with the basic logistics needed to sit confidently for the BECE, which is a crucial step in their academic journey.

Hon. Bekoe, along with his team, personally visited several schools to present the items. The schools included Great Miracle Preparatory School, Tako Fiano JHS A and B, Ayisatu Owen International School, Rejoice Preparatory School, and Resurrection Presbyterian Preparatory School.

Speaking to our reporter, Hon. Francis Bekoe emphasized the importance of education in national development. According to him, the success of any country depends on the standard of its education, and he aims to improve the quality of education in his constituency; hence, the donation.

“I believe that the success of every country depends on quality education. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the kind of education I received. When I was campaigning for the position of Assembly Member, I promised to improve the standard of education in our electoral area and that is exactly what I am doing.” He stated.

He further explained that although the items distributed are not overly expensive, he recognizes that some parents struggle to afford them. Hon. Francis Bekoe seized the opportunity to urge the 2025 BECE candidates within his catchment area to be bold and confident when sitting for the exams. He also pledged a special reward for any candidate who passes the examination with a single grade.”

“I understand that items like mathematical sets, rulers, and pens are not too expensive, but in rare cases, some parents may not be able to afford them. That is why I decided to distribute these items to all BECE candidates in my electoral area.

“I urge the students to be bold and confident as they sit for their exams. They should know that my Unit Committee members and I are fully behind them. I also promise that any student who scores a single grade will receive a special award from me.” He said.

The Assistant Headteacher of Tako Fiano JHS, Mr. David Ayeye Nyampong, on behalf of the schools, expressed deep appreciation to Hon. Francis Bekoe and the management of Minimie Atsomo for their kind gesture.”

“On behalf of all the schools, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the Assembly Member for this kind gesture. I have been here for quite some time, and I must say, I have not witnessed anything like this before. On behalf of our learners, we sincerely say thank you.

“We also extend our deep appreciation to Minimie. We pray that wherever the Assembly Member and Minimie sourced the funds from, God will replenish it abundantly, so they may continue to support our schools in the future. We wish Hon. Francis Bekoe all the very best in his tenure of office.”He said.

Some of the beneficiaries also shared their excitement and gratitude.

“We are very grateful to our Assembly Member for this kind gesture. It is our prayer that God replenishes whatever resources he used, so that next year, he can do the same for our juniors who will be writing their exams in the next academic year.” A learner stated

Another stated, “We have received a mathematical set, pen, ruler, and a snack from Minimie Astomo, and we are truly thankful. These items are essential logistics for the BECE, and thanks to Hon. Francis Bekoe, we now have them. We promise not to disappoint him. We will go to the examination center with confidence, and with the academic training we have received from our facilitator, we are sure to pass with flying colors.”

A learner at Tako Fiano JHS A seized the occasion to encourage all candidates who will be sitting for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to approach the exam without fear.

“I encourage my fellow candidates to believe in themselves. This exam is no different from the mock exams we wrote. We just need to go to the examination center without fear, and we will surely come out victorious.” She said.
