The Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Hon Osei Assibey Antwi together with Sub Metros Education Committee and Metro Education Director pay a civility call on various West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination centers that falls under Kumasi Metro on Monday,3rd August 2020.
The various WASSCE Centers visited includes; Kumasi Wesley Girls SHS, Kumasi Girls Senior High School and Serwaa Nyarko Girls SHS.
Addressing the press, the Metro Education Director of KMA, Mr David Oppong said, under the KMA there are a total number of 10,141 Students represented 100%, Males 5,028 Students represented 49.5% and Females 5,117 Students represented 50.5% within Thirteen (13) Schools.
He therefore wishes all the candidates the very best as they begin this year’s WASSCE.
‘We have admired their enthusiasm and determination to complete this phase of their Education and are confident that their efforts will be paid handsomely.
Moreover, this year’s WASSCE results will be better than the previous results and this will come on the heels of massive investment by President Addo’s government.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive for KMA, Hon Osei Assibey Antwi shows appreciation to the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service and West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) for their hardwork for this Examination to carry-on within this pandemic.
“As we are have observed form grounds, that the need materials to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are being provided and everybody is also observing the protocols as well”.
Advising the students, I believe that the teachers have done their part and now the ball is on their court to kick and score. He also urged the students to remove fear and panic and treat the exams as one on their usual tasks like team exams or class tests.
In addition, we pray for God’s guidance and grace for all the Candidates especially as they have braced odds to sit for their examination at this very delicate period of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Great accomplishment and success are my best wishes for them today and beyond.
