The economic agony is irreversible under President Akufo-Addo administration

As a young learner of Ghana’s politics, I have witnessed both military regimes as well as democratically elected governments.

The fourth republic has successfully delivered four former Presidents. Two of these former presidents have departed. The remaining two have gone through the governance system with a lot of experience, but has been abandoned due to the comical ineptitude of President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo and his bloated family.

I have not come across this growing level of hunger, suffering, pain and astronomical increase in goods and services in our markets.

All the economic indicators are pointing to negative directions as the cedis keep depreciating every single hour to major currencies.

The economic shocks and the agony we are going through is unprecedented and irretrievable under President Akufo-Addo.

Governance under president Akufo Addo has been reduced to discordance and the economic woes that we are going through in an irreconcilable manner.

President Akufo Addo and his appointees have taken the suffering masses for their personal advantage. They are profiteering in the current economic torture. While the masses are suffering, he and his family are smiling.

We voted for them based on their electioneering campaign promises with the hope that they will fulfill their promises to better our living conditions. This is a social contract between the voter and the politician.

Nana Akufo Addo was even begging Ghanaians to try him as if the presidency is a rehearsal ground.

Regrettably, after we gave him the power that he was so desperate and so much desired, he tends to forget us completely and is now enjoying the power with his family and friends, even those who fought for him with the hope that he will do more than his predecessors have been treated with disdain.

President Akufo Addo after gaining power has grown so pompous and now rules like a monarch. He arrests anyone who criticizes his government. He moves from one radio station to another with his so-called presidential chair to insult and vilify chiefs and prominent citizens.

This is the man who campaigned on freedom of speech and is a self-acclaimed human right advocate.

All president Akufo Addo cares about is how to enrich himself, his family, friends and his foreign surrogates at the expense of the ordinary Ghanaian.

In fact, He doesn’t care about the plight of the ordinary Ghanaian on the street in kumasi,Takoradi, Accra, Tamale and other part of the country, He has abandoned the very people he swore an oath to protect and defend their livelihood in this country.

He acts and speaks as if his brain has been drained out at river Perlele in Kumasi, Aboabo.

He does not care about the predicament of the ordinary Ghanaian on the street as things continue to get worse, the current worsened situation has no end in sight as we live without any signs of hope for restoration of our current economic plight.

We can’t longer afford three square mail a day.

We can’t long pay transport fares as it increases every single hour.

We can’t longer pay our rent

We can’t can’t pay our children school fees

We can’t pay light and water bills.

We can’t longer drive our personal cars/ Motorcycles to work as fuel prices keep increasing.

We can’t longer join the trotro to market and workplaces.

We can’t get jobs after completing school, yet President Akufo Addo has chosen to languish in the most expensive Jet in the world at this moment of excruciating economic hardship that he has intentionally brought on us.

President Akufo Addo in his 30th October, 2022 address failed to take responsibility for the high increase in goods and services, but blamed traders.

When calls from senior citizens and civil society groups advising him to sack his finance minister and reshuffle his ministers, he turned to tag them as political opportunists and people who don’t want his government to succeed. Such an unresponsive leader.

With this attitude of president Akufo Addo , it’s clear that he doesn’t care about the people, he is abusing the 1992 constitution which is a guiding tool of the governance system in Ghana.

We now see and feel corruption under President Akufo Addo.

We all see the total breakdown of our institutions and social welfare system.

We all see that our industries are collapsing.

We see the agricultural sector collapsing.

Our environment has been polluted by foreigners who came in to harvest our mineral resources.

We all see our young people dying and being arrested and prosecuted in the name of galamsey, while the foreigners dine with our politicians.

We all see our educational system collapsing.

Our health system is running out of essential logistics.

The country is burning and President Akufo Addo doesn’t care.

The constitution is only applicable on the vulnerable Ghanaian and those that hold different opinions from President Akufo Addo.
