The first Northerner, Zongo born to lead the NPP since 1992, the critical issues

For the first time, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would be fielding a northerner who is also from the Zongo against the several years of vile propaganda churned out by the NDC that, the NPP hates Northerners,Muslims and those of us from the Zongos.

Even though we are fielding him for his competence to grow this economy, we are also sending a strong shiver to their spines so that, they would be forced to stick to issues rather than tribal, religious and geographical propaganda.

The Name Dr Mahamudu BAWUMIA would be the historic name in the NPP because he will break the 8.

We have so many Zongos in this country and 99.99% of the Zongos have remained loyal to the NDC who has over the years have taken us for granted and as such have failed woefully to tailor policies for the wellbeing of the Zongos except for them to tell us that, they gave us holidays for EIDUL -FITR and EIDUL-Adha, how funny could it get?

The Northern Part of Ghana have also been very loyal to the NDC until recently when Dr BAWUMIA came to the scene and gave the NPP some level of relevance.

Some of the Zongos have already benefited from Astroturfs, Schools, scholarships including having our continuous bite in the almighty Free SHS policy.

To give impetus to these claims, let me speak about Sunyani Zongo and what’s happening now, through his proposition, the President is currently turning a 90 years old refuse dump occupying some 3 acres land and a habitat for weed smokers into an urban park to host occasions and functions. A 500m storm drain to prevent flooding in that enclave is also part of the contract.

Clearly and purposefully, Sunyani Zongo couldn’t have asked for more because these two projects were like a cancer that was destroying our beautiful community.

Speaking about the north with few words but of significant importance, through Dr BAWUMIA, the North has seen it first interchange in Tamale, he went to UK upon the president’s instruction and brought a partnership for the construction and expansion of the Tamale Airport phase 2 project which has been commissioned too with many others completed and ongoing. The recent big deal in the north is commencement of over 582 projects for some 434 communities.

So, as delegates we are clear in our minds and are convinced that, if there’s anytime in the history of our Party that we can break the seeming 8 years rule, it is now and it is with Dr BAWUMIA.

November 4th would see to the election of Dr Mahamudu BAWUMIA as the NPP’s flagbearer to face the NDC with records of the Party now, that of before and what’s to come for the total transformation of our country.

There’s no denying fact that, the twin apocalypse ie: COVID 19 and the Russian- Ukraine war wreaked unprecedented havoc of a sea magnitude on our economy and the economies of the world.

Thankfully, our post Covid 19 policies and strategies are working effectively to bringing us back into the path of prosperity.

We can’t risk letting those who have no knowledge of policy crafting and implementation come in with excuses with their leader having only 4 years hanging on his neck.

History has taught us that no government can be fully be operational in the first four years due to the fact that any new government would have to look into and possibly halt all programmes and policies to make way for his own and that would take two to three years to achieve that so why risk bringing a candidate that can only lead for four years when we have seen him govern with pomposity and vitriol?.

Unless there’s something he has left behind at the Presidency that he thinks he has to retrieve, he can’t really be of any help to anyone and we know that.

If we choose Dr BAWUMIA which is almost certain, we are only forcing them to speak to issues because all the tribal, religious and geographical propaganda would’ve been ended for the NDC.

The golden opportunity is now and it is with Dr BAWUMIA.
