The Light Foundation has embarked on its yearly ramadan food support to Muslims in deprived communities in the Northern Region.
The outreach took place in Balshie and Nakplisi communities in the Nantong District where residents of the two communities were given food packages such as rice, sugar, oil, spaghetti, tin tomatoes, tea and milk to support them during the Ramadan fast.
The Foundation also distributed nose masks and hand sanitizers to the residents of the two communities as part of efforts to help prevent the spread of the deadly pandemic which has killed thousands of people across the globe.
The C.E.O of The Light Foundation, Sheikh Ali Abubakar Napari led the staff of the foundation to donate the food items to residents in the area.
The residents lauded the efforts of The Light Foundation and thanked them for continuously supporting them especially during the annual Islamic festivities such as the Eid ul-Fitr.
The light Foundation, an Islamic Non-Governmental Organisation aimed at supporting the vulnerable and needy in society earlier this month embarked on similar exercise in some Muslim communities in Accra.
For the past decade, the organisation has lightened the heart of many vulnerable people and deprived communities in various parts of the country not only by helping meet their physical needs but improving their spiritual wholeness as well.
It is in the light of this that the foundation has hosted a number of clergy men such as the spokesperson of the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, Sheikh Muniru Tawfiq Abdullah of Al-husuuna-Wal-Jammal, Rev.Seth Acquaye, Faith and religions’ manager at World Vision Int. amongst others as part of the foundation’s interfaith facebook broadcast on the teachings of Prophet Mohammed and the Qu’ran in English and Hausa.
According to the CEO,TLF will also embark on peace campaigns in various parts of the country to encourage and educate the public to continuously live peacefully among themselves irrespective of their political and religious persuations before, during and after the elections.
Sheikh Napari also hinted of plans by the foundation to host health experts from the country’s health Institutions on it’s social media platforms, Facebook: Twitter: Instagram: @tlfghana YouTube: The Light Foundation, to educate the public on good hygiene practices to augment Government efforts of mitigating the spread of COVID-19 apart from donating food packages to Muslim communities in various parts of the country in the month of Ramadan.
This year’s support was on the theme “we share, no matter the portion”.
