Ghana celebrates Founders’ Day

Ghanaians celebrate Founders’ Day in remembrance of the forefathers’ work that led to independence. On this occasion several celebrities, media outlets, brands and individuals took to Twitter to share messages to mark the day. TV Host Serwaa Amihere wrote, “The forces that unite us are intrinsic and greater than the superimposed influences that keep us apart”. Urban Radio Station, YFM Takoradi, also Tweeted a Founders’ Day message. Kow Essuman, Legal Counsel to the President of Ghana, also posted, “It is important to remember our nation’s founders and the role they played for the independence and freedoms we enjoy today.”

WASSCE begins

The hashtag “#WASSCE” was trending on Twitter this week as candidates began the West African Senior Schools Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) which started on August 1 and ends on September 27. In addition to several media  like Independent_gh & TV3 Ghana Tweeting about it, there was also an outpouring of best wishes  to the candidates from netizens including Andy Darks.  The VOICE_of_KNUST also shared a Tweet with their best wishes. Agyemang Okyere Darko also Tweeted, encouraging the candidates, saying “You are bound for excellence.”

BBNaija7: Hermes emerges second HoH, nominates five housemates

On Monday, Level One housemate, Hermes, emerged as the second Head of House and was asked to nominate five housemates in Level Two for possible eviction this Sunday. He nominated Phyna, Khalid, Cyph, Christy O and Amaka. Reacting to the nominations on #TwitterGhana, BBNaija enthusiast, Glo beb said, “Khalid must stay long.” Another also posted, “Please save Cyph.” Who do you think will go home? Twitter reacts to SIM registration extension to September

The Minister of Communications and Digitalisation, Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has disclosed that the deadline for the SIM registration has been extended to September 30. The government has also announced rolling out self-service registration applications, which will be made available on both Android and IOS platforms for GHS 5 as reported in this Tweet by Citi 97.3 FM.

Commonwealth Games: Benjamin Azamati wins Heat 7 to qualify for 100m semi-finals

Ghanaian sprinter  Benjamin Azamati has qualified for the semi-finals of the 100m event at the 2022 Commonwealth Games after winning his heat. Juliet Bawuah shares a Tweet about his clean win. Malik Ofori also praises him for putting Ghana on the map.
