Timber Truck falls in River Bia, logs carried away

 

A timber Truck has fell into River Bia in the Bia East District if the Western North region.

The wood laden fell into the river after a heavy downpour on Sunday, October 2,2022, which flooded the river.

The logs on the truck have all been carried away by the river.

A member of the rescue team, Abdul Rashid Abubakar who spoke to Filasconews.com on the ground said, the driver and his mate were saved by the timely intervention of the rescue team.

Rashid also disclosed that, the situation has cut Fosukrom community from the towns.

Saying, the inhabitants in the second largest community in Bia East District, Fosukrom are unable to cross the river due to the flooding.

The people living in the community are therefore pleading with the authorities to construct a metallic bridge on the river for them.
