Two persons found dead in separate ‘mysterious’ circumstances

Residents of two separate municipalities within the Ashanti region woke up Tuesday morning to the spectacle of what could be described as ritual killing, throwing the vicinity into a state of shock and agony, MyNewsGh.com reports.

At Suame Market in the Suame Municipality, a young man believed to be in his early twenties was found hanging by a trouser-leg tied to the woodwork of a market shed, behind a corn mill.

Eyewitnesses said they suspect foul play in the circumstance that led to his death, since there were signs of torture and what they say could be machete wounds at his back.

They say he could have been hanged there by his assailants after he was murdered elsewhere; delegations of chiefs from the Suame palace were at the scene to perform some rituals before he was dismounted.

The identity of the deceased had not been established at the time of filing this story, but the Suame Municipal Police say it has opened investigations into the matter.

In the Ejisu Municipality, another man believed to be in his 30s was also found dead at Ejisu-Asawase.

An eyewitness told MyNewsGh.com that, the deceased was found bound with a masking tape to the head, legs and arms.

He appeared to have been dragged on the ground before he was abandoned in a bush by the road side, he said.

He said the town has been thrown into a state of shock, though the victim was unknown in the vicinity.
