The Bono East Regional Fire Command has received a generous donation of 30 mattresses valued at GH₵13,500.00 from UNASCO Enterprise Limited. The donation aims to ease the burden on firefighting officers who work night shifts across the region.

“We are here on behalf of the Managing Director of UNASCO Enterprise Limited, who is also the Bono East Regional Chairperson of the NDC, Unas Owusu, popularly known as Chairman UNASCO.

The Bono East Regional Fire Commander, ACFO Naomi Adubea Ofori Sarpong, expressed deep gratitude for the donation, highlighting the importance of the support for officers on night duty.

“We are very grateful to UNASCO Enterprise Limited for their benevolent gesture. When I took over as the Bono East Regional Fire Commander, I visited all the stations in the region and realized that most of them lacked mattresses for our officers, especially those working night duties.

“I appealed to Chairman of UNASCO to assist us with mattresses, and he has generously responded by donating 30 mattresses. There are many fire stations within the Bono East region, and this donation from UNASCO Enterprise Limited will go a long way in supporting our officers.” ACFO Naomi Adubea Ofori Sarpong said.

However, ACFO Naomi Adubea Ofori Sarpong also appealed to the public for further support, citing the inadequate office space that currently serves both as the Bono East Regional Headquarters and Municipal office.

“We still need a lot of support from the public. Our current office is not adequate to accommodate all our staff, as it serves both as the Bono East Regional Headquarters and the Municipal office, making the space insufficient.

“My predecessor began constructing a new office complex to serve as the regional head office, but it is not yet completed. We need help from the public to finish the building.” She said.

According to her, governance is a collective effort; hence, there is a need for everyone to come on board to support not only the Fire Command but all other state institutions in need of assistance

“Although it is the government’s responsibility to provide offices for state institutions, governance is a collective effort, and well-meaning Ghanaians are kindly urged to come on board and support us.” She stated
