A popular UK based blog, Unorthodox Review, has listed Shatta Wale as one of Africa’s Top 5 Afrobeat artists. During a discussion on the finest five African afrobeat musicians, one of the hosts from Unorthodox Review listed Shatta Wale among the top three.

There was this other host who, stopped the conversation to inquired why Shatta Wale but he later agreed that, he counts. He said the Melissa hitmaker deserved the number 3 spot because he’s been at his best when it comes to the afrobeat genre.

He listed Wizkid from Nigeria as the top African afrobeat artist, followed by Davido also from Nigeria, Shatta Wale a Ghanaian, and then Nigerians Asake and Burna Boy in fourth and fifth place, respectively.

The host highlighted Shatta Wale’s consistency in delivering hits and captivating performances as reasons for his ranking. Even though the Ghanaian music star is mostly known as Dancehall King, it still doesn’t take his versatility skills away. He’s good in all genres from Dancehall, Afrobeats, gospel, high life and hip hop.

Additionally, he praised Shatta Wale’s influence on the afrobeat genre both in Ghana and internationally. He claimed Shatta Wale does it for him, he doesn’t care even if he does no afrobeat.
