Republican Bob Good defeated Cameron Webb in a toss-up race in Virginia’s 5th Congressional District, keeping the seat for the GOP. Good is a former Liberty University fundraiser who describes himself as a “biblical conservative.” Webb is a doctor who has been treating COVID-19 patients while running for office.

Nevada has put out an update on the status of its vote count. The state said it has counted all early votes, mail-in votes received before Nov. 2, and in-person Election Day votes. Still left to count are mail ballots received on Election Day, mail ballots received over the next week and provisional ballots. The state said its next update will come at 9 a.m. Thursday. According to the HuffPost Election Hub, with 67% of the votes counted, Biden leads Nevada with 50% of the vote. Trump is at 47.9%.

Janez Janša, the prime minister of Slovenia, has congratulated Trump on his baseless claim to victory, despite the fact that votes are still being counted.

Biden campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon put out a statement slamming Trump’s comments. “If the president makes good on his threat to go to court to try to prevent the proper tabulation of votes, we have legal teams standing by ready to deploy to resist that effort. And they will prevail,” she wrote. Both Republicans and Democrats have enlisted legal teams to stand by and be ready to head to court, should the election outcome be murky. Roughly 300 lawsuits have already been filed about the election around the country, the AP reported.

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf, a Democrat, has pushed back against Trump’s claims of a “stolen election” while votes are still being counted. “We still have over 1 million mail ballots to count in Pennsylvania,” Wolf wrote, vowing that every vote will be counted. “Let’s be clear: This is a partisan attack on Pennsylvania’s elections, our votes, and democracy,” the governor said.

The AP also projects that Democrat Mark Kelly has defeated Republican incumbent Martha McSally in Arizona’s Senate race.

Californians voted to approve Proposition 22, which allows ride-sharing companies like Uber and Lyft to classify their drivers as contractors rather than as employees who would get benefits like a minimum wage and health insurance. The companies have fought hard against the law because converting drivers to employees would come with a big price tag. The gig economy giants spent more than $185 million on the campaign, making it the most expensive ballot initiative in the state’s history.

Republican Greg Gianforte is the projected winner of the Montana governor race, AP reports. Gianforte infamously once body-slammed a reporter just before the state’s special election in 2017.

Republican Steve Daines is the projected winner of the Montana Senate race, the AP reports. He was challenged by Steve Bullock, the Democratic governor of the state.

Democrat Katie Porter is projected to win her reelection bid for California’s 45th Congressional District, AP reports. Her district is located in the southern part of the state and includes parts of Orange County.

Democrat Adam Schiff is projected to win reelection to California’s 28th congressional district, AP reports.

Facebook joins Twitter in adding labels to Trump’s posts about the election results. As the label points out, ballots will continue to be counted until a winner is projected. No one is casting votes after the polls are closed; the ballots left to be counted are mail-in or early ballots that were cast before the polls closed.
