Victory 96.1 FM, presenter sued for GHc50,000.00

An Aflao based Radio Station, Victory 96.1 FM and a Presenter, Israel Apentem have been dragged to Keta Circuit Court of Justice by a Law Student, Benedictus Kwaku Amedume over defamation of character and slanderous utterances.

The Student who doubles as a business man resides at Amutinu in the Ketu South Municipality is seeking for GHc 50,000.00 in damages, retraction and an apology through same or similar medium within the area.

The first defendant (Israel Apentem) who resides in Aflao is an employee of the second defendant (Victory 96.1 FM) located at Awakorme-Aflao all in the ketu South Municipality of The Volta region.

In his statement of claim, Mr. Amedume, the Plaintiff submitted that in the morning hours of Tuesday 20th October, 2020, the 1st defendant made certain grievous defamatory, slanderous and derogatory statements against him which goes to tarnish his very person, character and reputation  as a good citizen of Ghana.

The lawyers for The Plaintiff also wants “all legal fees incurred by the Plaintiff be paid to him by the defendants and any other remedy or cost the court may deem fit”
