• A video making the rounds shows citizens pouring out their reservations on Gabby
• Gabby maintains a calm composure to events going on around him per a video in circulation
A leading member of the ruling New patriotic Party, NPP, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, has been accosted by some Ghanaians on the streets of New York in the United States of America; in a video making the rounds on social media platforms.
The president’s cousin, known in opposition circles as the de facto Prime Minister of the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government, is captured in the 1 minute 52 seconds video walking through New York City.
He is followed by some Ghanaians raining complaints and accusations about ongoings back home on the calm looking Gabby.
Gabby, who is wearing a suit at a point is seen engaging one of the critics whiles another person filming the interaction is running commentary about how ‘dangerously influential’ Gabby is back in Ghana.
“See him, this guy, that guy; he is a very bad guy. In Ghana, before you see him, you have to pay $20,000,” he is heard saying.
He continues in Hausa, “We do not want anything of theirs, we are only going to tell them the truth.”
Then he reverts to English: “See, it is hard for you to see him in Ghana, but here you see him. Before you see him, you have to pay $20,000, but look at him here on the streets of New York.”
Gabby at this time is busy talking on his phone whiles he is being shielded by a number of acquaintances notable amongst them Samuel Atta Mensah, CEO of Omni Media, operators of Citi FM and Citi TV.
The latest incident comes days after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was accosted by Ghanaian nationals in Germany asking him to ‘Fix The Country,’ in reference to a social media triggered campaign demanding good governance and accountability.
