A 45-year-old policewoman identified as Insp. Kate Abban together with her three children have lost their lives to a gas explosion at Ablekuma Fanmilk, a suburb of Accra.
The incident occurred on Sunday, January 5, 2020 when the family had just returned from church and the late mother was about preparing food for the family.
Reports say the 21-year-old Emmanuel Agyei who is a student at the Ghana Telecom University became a victim of the fire when he attempted to help his mother and struggling siblings.
The eleven-year-old daughter was also said to be washing dishes at the time of the explosion while the nine-year-old was also in the company of her mother when the explosion occurred.
Narrating the incident on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Monday, a sister of the now-deceased policewoman who gave her name as Sarah said her sister was rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital where she died on January 9, 2020.
According to Sarah, Emmanuel died on January 10, 2020 while her 11-year-old Joyce Abban and Ebenezer Abban who also suffered various degrees of injuries died on Sunday, January 12, 2020.
