Residents of Nerebehi in the Atwima Nwabiagya South of the Ashanti Region are angry with their queen mother, Nana Agyeku Timah for allegedly selling their cemetery land for illegal Miners.

A report by Agyenkwa News reporter Sofoba Kwame Afrifah after visiting the site indicates that there is a surface illegal mining activities ongoing at the cemetery confirming the allegations leveled by the residents.

A resident who didn’t speak to the camera confirmed to Afrifah that the chief, Nana Bonah Manu who is currently living overseas is very much aware and they are hoping to hear from him why such activity is going on.

“What annoys us most is that, the queen mother doesn’t respect anybody in this town. And now she has connived with some of the sub chiefs and sold our only cemetery for that activities.”

“The illegal miners knowing very well that their activities are illegal and unwanted in the town work at nights. They have exhumed some graves in search for gold. But is that a good for act, and where will we even seek medical treatment when there is disease breakout in the town?. He rhetorically asked.

He then urged the municipal authorities and the government to immediately intervene to save the situation before it gets worse and cause mayhem between them and the queen mother.
