Some students in Edo state are in tears after their headteacher absconded with their WAEC fees and put the school up for sale on exams day.
A video making rounds show the students gathered at the entrance of the school gate standing in shock as they stared at a card board hanging on the gate with the inscription, “school for sale”.
The students were said to have arrived at the school with the intention to begin their WAEC exams only to discover that the headteacher, also the owner of the school, absconded after collecting their WAEC fees.
The angry students stormed the school and destroyed the properties. Some boys were seen breaking the windows with sticks.
However, government authorities are yet to react to this development.
