The Director of Communications of Power Distribution Services [PDS], William Boateng says their outfit is not in the rightful position to publish a load-shedding timetable to forewarn the citizenry.
He explained in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ that, “Only the industry players can decide on that when there’s no option. For now the situation has not gotten to that so we can’t come out with a timetable.”
His comment comes after the main opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC] urged the New Patriotic Party [NPP] government to admit that Ghana’s power outages popularly known as ‘dumsor’ is back – hence government must publish a timetable to alert the citizenry.
But, government insists dumsor is not back and has explained that the situation was a result of technical challenges.
Energy Minister, John Peter Amewu had assured the country that the situation would stabilize in five days but the problem still persists in most parts of the country.
