A video has popped up showing the names of some of the most popular types of waist beads on the Ghanaian market.
In a tending video sighted, the CEO of Mamamaama (Original) Beads, Monica Osei who sells an array of waist beads is seen mentioning the names of the beads. She explains how wearing of beads as a woman adds value- a symbol of femininity and sensuality, only the partner a woman chooses would have the honor of seeing them fully.
Among the interesting names she mentioned in the video were Range Rover, Diesel, M’akoma Mu Toffee, I Love My Husband, Sign Cheque, Crystal, Light Off, Toma Nketewa (Small Beads), and Princess.
According to her, the types of beads she listed come in many different colours and sizes. Mamamaama, in one of her videos further added that the wearing of beads is a sign that a woman had either reached marriageable age.
They are also worn on babies during naming ceremonies, some say; to accentuate their waistlines and hips as they grow and also a weight measure; when gaining weight, the belt of the beads climb up and when you lose weight, it falls elegantly on the hips, among others.
