The African Dancehall King, Shatta Wale, shared a post on Instagram immediately after the world boss was released from prison today. He shared a song he released for Vybz Kartel in 2022 concerning his release titled ‘Free Gaza’.
He captioned the post, ‘A prophecy come true, we asked to be freed, and he is free. Thank you God, Thank you spirits’.
After years of campaigning for Vybz Kartel’s release, Shatta Wale feels as though his dream has finally come true now that he is at liberty.

The entertainer walked from the Tower Street Adult Correctional Centre in Kingston on Wednesday afternoon after a court ruling earlier in the day that he should not be retried for the alleged 2011 killing of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams.

Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, along with Andre St John, Kahira Jones and Shawn ‘Shawn Storm’ Campbell, were charged with the murder of Williams in 2011, and convicted in 2014.
However, they had their convictions quashed by the UK Privy Council in March 2024, with the matter being sent back to the Court of Appeal in Jamaica for it to decide whether the men should be retried.
