The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama has described the 2024 general election as elections between ‘Ghana and the New Patriotic Party (NPP)’.
In his view, the NDC represents the will and aspirations of most Ghanaians going into the elections therefore Ghana in this context refers to the NDC.
Mr Mahama further said that the main opposition party is determined to win this year’s elections.
He says the NDC will oppose any attempt by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to rig the elections.
Mr Mahama said the December general elections is about Ghana.
Speaking at the funeral of the former minister of information and member of parliament for Talensi John Tia Akologo in Talensi of the upper east region, John Mahama has once again called on the clergy to preach not just peace but justice as the nation heads to the polls.
“We are determined to win this election. We are determined to win this election, not for ourselves and not for NDC, but we’re winning this election for Ghana,” John Mahama said.
He added “This election is between Ghana and the NPP, not NDC and NPP because we need to reset our nation. We need to rescue our nation from the crisis in which it has been plunged by the NPP administration.”
