We will never give TnA Stadium to NSA to destroy it for us: Tarkwa Nsuaem MCE.

The municipal chief executive of Tarkwa Nsuaem, Honourable Benjamin Kessei has expressed the readiness of it’s assembly and people of Tarkwa Nsuaem to manage the TnA Stadium than give it to NSA.

Speaking on Mining City Sports with Tony Owusu Afriyei on Wednesday, Hon. Kessie said the National Sports Authority (NSA) have no good record of managing the already existing sports stadia, including Baba Yahaya Stadium, Accra Sports Stadium and the likes in the country hence his decision.

“The stadium is for the people of Tarkwa Nsuaem which was lobbied by us, and the Stadium was built with our foundation money and we are capable of managing it”

“Akoon park is there, government has built many astroturfs so NSA can take over but not TnA Stadium ” The MCE said.

“NSA mismanaged the then TnA park when it was under their care until Goldfields accepted to re-construct it for the us”

” All the Chiefs, the Opinion leaders and the Youth are behind this decision and we will fight all means to take and manage our own stadium ” Hon. Kessei hinted.

The 10,400 capacity TnA stadium which worth over $16m was built by Goldfields Ghana Foundation under the umbrella of the Goldfields Ghana Limited.

After five years of construction, it has been inaugurated and handed over by the foundation to the community on 16th August, but our checks shows that the keys were given to NSA on the Inauguration day which has generated anger amongst the people of the area, Mining City Sports Journalist, Evans Kweku Oboafi Junior (HARDROCK) can confirm.
