We’re not recruiting headteachers for STEM schools – Education Ministry

The Ministry of Education has debunked claims by the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) that it has embarked on a recruitment drive for head teachers to fill STEM schools across the country.

According to the Ministry, the allegation is misrepresented fact and has created a wrong impression about interference of work between the Ministry and its agency, the Ghana Education Service (GES).

“We would like to place on record that the Ministry of Education has no plans to recruit headmasters for the New Stem Schools. Neither has the Ministry made any advertisements to that effect,” Spokesperson for the Ministry, Kwasi Kwarteng Frimpong explained.

NAGRAT had accused the Ministry of Education of putting out an advertisement inviting applicants to apply for the headteacher positions at STEM schools.

But, the Ministry says the allegations are false and called on the Association to seek clarification on matters before going public.
