What Does Afenyo Markins mean by “Anti Ofori Atta MPs?

By Nana Kweku Ofori Atta, (CEO Avcontech Security Masters).

What does the Deputy Majority Leader of Parliament and MP for Effutu Constituency, Hon Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markins mean by “Anti Ofori Atta MPs?

Can he elaborate or throw more light on his statement, being used as headline, published on GhanaWeb?

Could it be true that certain MPs and Ministers of State as allegedly heard from a source, have an agenda of using the Finance Minister Hon Ken Ofori Atta to redeem the image of the Vice-President,

Dr Alhaji Bawumia over his failed lectures of knowing the fundamentals used in developing a nation’s economy and also to promote his alleged intention of him succeeding his boss,
Mr President in the upcoming presidential slot to lead the new patriotic party 2024 elections although the party has not yet opened its nominations yet, those allegedly lobbying/aspiring to be his running mate intend to be in his good books by making sure Ken Ofori a
Atta is been used as a sacrificial lamb?

I believe our democracy is earning its relevance through the economic hardship the country is going through, under the poor economic management of President Akuffo Addo/Dr Bawumia government.

I am of the belief that whatever be the case, the Finance Minister cannot be used to redeem an image that has been built and nurtured with doubts in the minds of Ghanaians .

I am surprised to see same party members and MPs who sat to listen to countless lectures of the Vice President, who was described as “The Economic Wizkid” by his wife and many influential party members.

He spoke on the fundamentals of Ghana’s economy from a theoretical approach, forgetting that leadership is not all about lectures that seemed loaded with solutions but when power was handed over to him to manage, he could not apply all that he spoke about.

Why threaten the president with a petition to boycott the 2023 budget?

Could it be that the MPs are playing games with our national issues to impose their political affliction agenda on us ?

It’s unfortunate to have read the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Alexander Kwamena Afenyo Markin, Mp for Effutu Constituency, supporting such a petition instead of speaking to his colleagues to defend the same man he is to protect in the chamber anytime he comes to deliver his budget to the house during debate.

Could it be that he wants to catch the attention of the Vice President to be nominated as running mate as allegedly put out there?

Like Hon Kennedy Agyapong will say, and I quote “Mr. Bawumia, fix the Economy.“
I think it’s time to know who supports the nation with a sincere heart.

I thought Mr Ofori Atta, worked hand in hand with the Vice President, Senior Minister, his Deputy Minister of Finance as a team to run the economic affairs of the country.

Why single him out for dismissal, knowing very well he is negotiating with IMF
as the nation’s Finance Minister.

What impression are the government and the Members of Parliament creating in the minds of the IMF Board?

Is the Vice President not seen at all times, coming to Parliament with the Finance Minister, Hon Ken Ofori Atta to present his budget as Minister of Finance and many of these same MPs hail him?

What went wrong all of a sudden to see certain MPs who have been sighted to push the alleged intention of sacking Mr Ofori Atta, declaring support for the Vice President to be the next Presidential candidate though the party hasn’t opened nominations yet?

Is that constitutional per both the 1992 Constitution and the NPP party’s laws?

I think it’s time to unite as a nation, to solve this crisis facing the country rather than boycotting and threatening the president to sack a particular Minister, while many are allegedly accused of involving in numerous corrupt practices .

Mr president, i will continue to pray for you to be strong at this period to make the right decisions to help Ghanaians.

God bless us all .
