Winneba Police Commander Under Fire:NDC Alleges Bias and Intimidation

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central Region has publicly denounced the actions of Winneba Divisional Commander ACP Jeffrey Darko, accusing him of selective justice and intimidation of NDC members in the Effutu Constituency.

In a Press release signed by the party’s regional communications officer Hon.Gabriella Tetteh, She made it categorically clear that they will never sit down idle for NDC members to be intimidated and cow to the harsh treatment by Mr Afenyo Markin who is behind all the hostilities in the consistency.

“We will no longer sit back and watch while our members are intimidated and our billboards destroyed,”

“ACP Darko’s actions are a clear attempt to undermine the democratic process and favor the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). the statement Said.

Specifically, the NDC claims ACP Darko has provided security for MP Afenyo Markins’ billboard installations while ignoring the destruction of NDC billboards by thugs affiliated with the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE). This, they argue, undermines the democratic process and unfairly favors the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“This is unacceptable and we will not tolerate it, “We demand that ACP Darko and the Ghana Police Service remain impartial and ensure a peaceful electoral process.”Part of the statement reads

The NDC has also expressed dissatisfaction with the economic management of the current NPP administration, citing high corruption, nepotism, and destruction of democratic gains.

“Ghanaians are suffering and it’s time for a change,We call on voters to reject the NPP and elect leaders who will truly serve the people.”

The NDC has vowed to take action to protect its members and ensure a free and fair election come December 7.
