Your suspension won’t stop me from radio -Allotey Jacobs hits back at NDC

Suspended former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Bernard Allotey Jacobs insists that his suspension from the party will not stop his appearance on radio shows.

Mr Allotey Jacobs who welcomes news of his suspension insists that he will continue to appear on political radio shows as a social commentator and not on the ticket of the party.

“A political party is a voluntary organization that is spearheaded by a group of people whom we elect to office to steer the affairs of the party, its voluntary, so if they have met and have decided that they are going to suspend me that is beautiful I have nothing to say, but that will not stop me from going to radio programmes and standing up for the truth; when it is good I will say it when it is bad I will say it”, he told Joy FM.

The Functional Executive Committee which acted in the stead of the National Executive Committee, suspended the embattled former executive describing his acts as ” persistent anti-party conduct”.

In a letter dated 6th May, 2020 and signed by the party’s National President, Mr Allotey Jacobs is said to have breached articles 46(1), 46(6) and 46(8)(b) of the NDC constitution.

Mr Allotey Jacobs has been much criticised for always chastising his own party on major platforms such as Peace FM, where he has become a regular panelist.

On Wednesday, the party withdrew from all political discussions on Peace FM, mainly because of Mr Allotey Jacobs present there as a “social commenter” aligned to the NDC and the dictatorial tendencies of the host of the political show, Kokrokoo.
