General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia affectionately called General Mosquito has taken a swipe at President Akufo-Addo over his claim that, “God is not so wicked as to punish Ghanaians again with the rule of John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress.”
“So is Akufo-Addo now the spokesperson for God? Let him answer for saying God will not allow John Mahama and NDC to come to power again?” Mr Asiedu Nketia quizzed on Kumasi FM’s morning show in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
Speaking at a durbar of Chiefs and people of Aflao held in his honour on Monday, September 4, 2019, the president is quoted to have said, “Ghanaians have moved on…God is not so wicked as to punish Ghanaians again with the rule of John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress, that’s not what God is going to do. Ghana has moved on, and we are now in an era of hope, in an era of progress, and we are going to march on.”
However, reacting to this, the NDC General Secretary said, the destiny of former President John Mahama and the NDC party is not in the hands of any individual, not even the President of Republic.
“It is not for President Akufo-Addo or NPP people to say NDC will win or will not win the 2020 polls. GOD knows who is going to win,” Mr Johnson Asiedu pointed out to host, Nana Yaw Mensah Joel.
Meanwhile, the former President John Mahama is also on record to have said on Sunday, November 3, 2019, that “God brought NPP so Ghanaians can appreciate NDC”.
