Youth Ambassador For Peace And Development Vows To Constructs Toilet Facilities For Households At No Interest Rate

Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu has fulfilled his pledge by building an ultra-modern lavatory for the house he was born and bred for the first time in 36 years.

The Afro Arab Group has announced an initiative to construct toilet facilities for households in the Nima-Mamobi communities to be paid back installment at zero interest rates.

The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Afro Arab Group of Companies, Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu, made the announcement at a hand over exercise to present a newly constructed ultra-modern lavatory facility to the house where he was born and bred.

Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu, who is also know as the Peace and Development Ambassador, made a pledge to deliver a toilet facility to the over 36 years old household where he grew up as a child and upon fulfilment of the promise, deem it fit to extend the initiative for other households to benefit.

He noted that the Zongo communities lack quality toiletry facilities which has led to residents easing themselves into unauthorized areas hence the relevance of such an initiative to address the menace.

“I’m very excited to complete this project because the house has been able to get its toilet facility after 36 years. Toilet and sanitation issues have been a major challenge since time immemorial and I believe that together we can solve them,” he said.

He added that his doors are open for the residents who also don’t have access to a befitting toilet facility so he can build for them to pay through Afro Arab Microfinance with flexible payment plans.

“It is my vision to champion Sustainable Development Goals 1 and 6. which talk about poverty and Water & Sanitation. Insha Allah, I will ensure that we eradicate poverty in the communities within the Zongos and inner cities,” he added.
The Afro Arab Properties, a subsidiary of the Afro Arab Group has already partnered with both North And East Ayawaso Municipalities to build for public-use ultra-modern lavatories within the communities to serve them.

According to Hajia Marie a resident, getting access to a quality lavatory has been their major challenge and with the intervention of Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu they can now boast of a better lavatory.

“We are most grateful to Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu for solving the major problem we have been facing for the past 36 years. It is our prayer that the Almighty Allah continue to sanctify him to do more for the community”.

Abdul Fatahu Alhassan, The mayor of Nima in his remarks hinted that the residents in the catchment lack the accessibility of a satisfactory public lavatory and the intervention of the Afro Arab Group Chairman will go a long way to help the sanitation issues in the area.
