25 marijuana smokers grabbed in Suame

The Suame Municipal Assembly in Kumasi is making inroads in the fight against narcotics, especially the smoking of marijuana also known as ‘Ganja’.

This follows the recent arrest of several marijuana smokers in some parts of the Municipality, following a collaboration between a task force and soldiers.

The Suame Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Dr. Bobie Osei Boahen, who made the disclosure on Hello FM, said the arrest took place at “Pear Mu”.

He said about 25 suspects were picked up by the security agents, adding that wrapped dried leaves, suspected to be marijuana, were found on the arrested suspects.

The Suame MCE expressed delight about the arrest of the 25 smokers, adding that the arrest would help reduce robbery in Suame.

According to him, most of the ganja smokers are behind the spate of robbery incidents in the Suame Municipality and so their arrest is appropriate.

Dr. Bobie Boahen also disclosed that several thieves, who reside and operate within the Suame Municipality have been apprehended lately.

He said most of the arrests took place during the night patrols of the security agencies, adding that the fight against crime in Suame is on.
