5 SHS students injured after ‘clash’ with Kukurantumi townsfolk

Five students of Only Believe Senior High School, a private school at Kukurantumi in the Eastern Region, have been reportedly injured during a clash between the town folks and the students.

The five were rushed to an unknown hospital by the police who intervened.
The school reportedly belongs to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Akyem Abuakwa North Constituency, Charles Darko Yeboah (Ozey).

Narrating what transpired on the night on Onua FM’s Ghana Dadwene hosted by Nana Yaw Opare on Wednesday, one of the students (name withheld) explained that they had a challenge in the school so as students, they approached the headmaster for redress.

The student said while they were returning, some town folks started pelting stones at them, resulting in their injuries.

“The headmaster is a political person but we had a problem so we went to the headmaster to [seek] address. When we were returning, we had stones being thrown at us and five of the students have been injured,” the student narrated.

“I don’t know the number of people who went to the headmaster but now, we can’t sleep because the town boys say they will come and attack us”.

The student said, “the police came and took the five people to the hospital but I don’t know which hospital they were taken to”.
