NPP presidential contest, 35,732 delegates to cast ballots in the Ashanti Region come November 4

It is expected that 35,732 delegates from the Ashanti Region will vote in the NPP presidential primary come Saturday, 4th November, 2023.

On November 4, 2023, elections will be held in all 47 constituencies within the Region.

Assuring transparent, peaceful, free, and fair elections, Ashanti Regional Research and Elections Officer Stephen Owusu told the media in an interview today in Kumasi that the region was prepared and that all necessary protocols had been followed.

He continued that the Elections Committee and all of the presidential candidates have previously endorsed the party’s rules and procedures for the elections.

He further noted that all of the candidates had been acting professionally while on their campaign trail in the area and expressed the optimism that the party’s united front would hold.

There would be four contenders vying to be the flag-bearer for the president.

Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, a former minister of agriculture, Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a member of parliament for Assin Central, Mr. Addai Nimo, a former member of parliament for Asante Mampong, and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia are among them.
