Atwima Mponua DCE Some Chiefs worried about NPP NDC fashion shown in the Presiding Membership Election

The Atwima Mponua District Chief Executive and some traditional chiefs are worried about the NPP and NDC fashion shown in the presiding membership elections which affect the decision of electing a presiding member to lead the current elected assembly to carry out their duties.

Charles Dwomfour, the incumbent presiding member was voted against twice even though, his contender stepped down from the context to give him the chance to lead yet still he could not attain one-third of the total number of 57.

Being in the NPP camp, he had 27 votes out of 57 in the first half and 31 votes in the second half while his contender had 25 votes in the first half and 21 votes in the second half. Spoiled ballots were 3 and 4 respectively in the two voting sections.

The assembly is set to reorganize itself to elect a presiding member in 10 days.

The district has 38 elected assembly members, 17 government appointees, and the district chief executive and member of Parliament in the area.

According to the information gathered, 17 out of the total number were NDC-known members, yet this was said to have affected the decision of the game.

The silly thing was that after the electoral supervisor set up yes-and-know elections to enhance the Assembly members to certify him (Charles Dwomfour who is said to be aligned with NPP) as the assembly’s presiding member, someone went on to vote “yet, still”!!!

After the second round of voting, he couldn’t receive the required percentage which is one-third of the total members of the assembly.

Hon. Isaac Kofi Marfo, the District Chief Executive of Atwima Mponua was very worried about the Assembly for an unsuccessful election in support of the development and failed to express his dissatisfaction with the media.

Also, some of the traditional leaders were unhappy with the disappointing acts of the assembly members and condemned the NPP and NDC-fashioned in the election which they think will affect development.
