Veteran Ghanaian Musician Shortman Announces Debut Album “Sekunde” Scheduled for December Release

Bright Martevi Tetteh, better known in the music world as Shortman or Too Short, is set to make waves in the Ghanaian music industry once again.

A seasoned artist with roots in the legendary music group Sass Squad, Shortman is gearing up to release his first solo album, “Sekunde” (Sekondi), this December.

The highly anticipated album will feature eight tracks, with the artist already working on a few singles to build momentum for the release.

Among the singles expected to drop soon are “Ghetto Jam,” “Don’t Be Stupid,” and “Sweet Baby Girl,Twapiah , Putecee and Buway” promising to offer a taste of the diverse sounds and themes the album will explore.

Shortman’s debut album is not just a solo effort; it showcases his collaborative spirit, featuring talented musicians from across Africa.

Collaborators include J NANA from Kenya, 5Five from Nigeria, and Tray Zee, whose real name is Bright Attipoe, from Ghana.

These collaborations are set to bring a rich, pan-African flavor to the album, highlighting the unity and diversity of the continent’s music scene.

Shortman’s journey in music began in the late 90s as a member of Sass Squad, one of Ghana’s pioneering hip-hop groups.

The group, initially consisting of four core members—Scooby, Atsu Koliko, Sane Dog, and occasional feature Olasty Bingo—carved out a significant niche in the music landscape with their innovative sounds and lyrical prowess.

Throughout his career, Shortman has collaborated with numerous Ghanaian artists, maintaining a fiercely independent stance by not signing with any record label.

This independence has allowed him to stay true to his artistic vision and maintain creative control over his work.

In addition to his music career, Shortman has dabbled in radio broadcasting, having served as a presenter on Radio Silver in Sekondi. His passion for creativity extends beyond music; he is an avid cook and enjoys experimenting with culinary arts in his leisure time. When he’s not in the kitchen or the recording studio, Shortman finds relaxation in playing video games, a hobby that offers him a break from his busy creative schedule.

As he prepares to launch “Sekunde,” fans and industry insiders alike are eagerly anticipating what promises to be a landmark release in Ghanaian music.

Shortman’s dedication to his craft and his commitment to authenticity continue to solidify his reputation as a respected figure in the hip-hop community. With this new album, he is poised to add yet another chapter to his storied career, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.
