Pensioners who fail to register biometrically will have their names deleted from the pension payroll by Saturday, 1 February 2020, the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has said.
SSNIT introduced the biometric registration to enhance its operations and services.
In a Facebook post on Friday, 10 January 2020, SSNIT called on all pensioners who have not done their biometric registration to contact the nearest SSNIT branch to do so by 31 January 2020.
“All pensioners who fail to register by the deadline will have their names deleted from the pensions payroll by 1 February and pensioners whose names are deleted from the payroll will not receive their pension payments for the month of February,” SSNIT stated.
It added: “Pension payments to affected pensioners will only be restored after their biometric registration.”
