COVID-19 cases in Ghana have jumped to 1042, President Akufo-Addo has announced.
Addressing the nation on Sunday, the President said the increase in numbers is as a result of 68, 591 tests conducted.
According to the President, nine people have died from the disease while 99 people have recovered and discharged, according to the GHS.
He stated that over 900 people are currently receiving treatment either at home or at medical facilities.
The general public is, however, advised that this does not represent new infections that are occurring. It represents results from tests of a backlog of samples.
Total samples tested so far now stands at 86, 916 with a backlog of over 18,000 results expected.
Regions that have reported cases are Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, Northern, Volta, Upper East, Upper West, Central, Western and North East.
