A local movie actor who was accused of a gay act with two others is being hunted by the community folks after they allegedly ran away from a committee interrogation.
According to the youth leader Abduhl Rauhf Abubakar of the Yalwa Zongo in the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Mohammed Maisuna Alhassan and two other accused persons were caught at Abirem, a suburb of Kwabre East municipality of the Ashanti Region, on February 14th, 2023, where they were having a canal knowledge.
They said, the three who were initially lynched by the community folks, were saved by the chiefs of the community who subsequently set up a committee to investigate, after keeping them in custody.
The new anger sparks after the three are allegedly said to have run away from facing the committee meeting. The youth have therefore threatened to deal with Maisuna who is a native of the town.
“Not that we hate Maisuna, but he is the only person we know. We are told that the two other guys are strangers. Why must you disrespect the elders of this community by running away from their committee?” They quizzed.
They also accused him of being a long-time gay man who has been caught on several occasions dressed like a female including in a movie he acted in recently in which he portrayed homosexual acts.
Muntala one of the elders who spoke to the media said, they were shocked to see Maisuna in such an act despite being forced to marry long ago, thus when people started suspecting him of being gay.
According to them, the original incident which happened at the Abirem was subsequently reported to the Yalwa Zongo (Central Mosque), thus after the three had run away from the Abirem palace custody.
The angry youth further revealed that since the case was reported to the Yalwa Zongo, Maisuna and his accomplices have not been seen in the area, despite several invitations by the Zongo chiefs.
Disappointed by the current development, the angry youth have threatened to take the law into their own hands whenever they set their eyes on any one of them, especially, Mohammed Maisuna Alhasan.
Meanwhile, an investigation by this reporter reveals that Maisuna and his accomplices ran away for the fear of putting their lives at risk, thus after the youth had allegedly threatened to kill them.
